A Shared Vision for Tourism in Hamilton County

As attractions and events continue to grow throughout Hamilton County, HCT has thoughtfully established a clear road map for growing the regional visitor economy. Every 3-5 years, the organization crafts a new strategic plan to act as a north star for its efforts. The HCT board of directors officially adopted the newest Strategic Plan in March of this year, which outlines goals through 2028.

The plan was developed through an extensive community engagement process in the second half of 2025, including more than 20 one-on-one interviews with public and private sector leaders and five focus groups representing hotels and meeting venues, sports tourism, arts and culture, parks and recreation and community stakeholders. That collective input shaped four strategic goal areas: Sales, Marketing & Sports; Destination Development; Community Engagement; and Best in Class Organization.

Anchored by a vision of Hamilton County as "a year-round destination for authentic, best-in-class experiences," the plan reflects both the momentum the region has already built and the opportunities that lie ahead. Key initiatives span the full three-year horizon, including the development of a refreshed HCT brand platform and growing winter and shoulder season programming, among others.

The plan also places significant emphasis on community and building alliances across public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors; developing a creative economy strategy to support year-round visitation; and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders about the economic, social and environmental impact of tourism in Hamilton County.

This strategic plan gives the entire HCT team and its partners a shared framework for the years ahead. For more information on Hamilton County Tourism’s vision and direction, VisitHamiltonCountyTourism.com.
