NEW FISHERS EVENT CENTER SKATING RIGHT ALONG
Steel is in the ground, visible to passersby in Hamilton County. The Fishers Event Center, which was announced as the new home for the ECHL pro hockey team in September 2022, is on track and becoming a reality. In addition to hosting the Indy Fuel’s 36 home games, the 8,500-seat building will also host a newly-announced IFL pro indoor football team and many other events.

REVAMPED WOMEN'S RUNNING FESTIVAL THRIVES IN CARMEL

Hamilton County’s largest city hosted one of the country’s largest women’s-only running events in the nation in late October. The Indiana Women’s Half Marathon moved to Carmel this year and the organization grew it into an all-out celebration for running and cancer awareness. The Indiana Women’s Running Festival in Carmel is now four races: a half, a 4-miler, a 5K and a 1 mile walk. The races, which drew 800 athletes, benefit the Indiana University Mel and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center.
