Westfield's Chatham Hills Ready to Tee Up NCAA Regional

When the weather turns each spring in Indiana, Hamilton County and its list of championship-level golf courses routinely welcomes top tournaments. This May, The Club At Chatham Hills in Westfield is next in line. Chatham Hills, a Pete Dye-designed facility featuring an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole executive course, will host the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regional with Indiana University.

Chatham Hills is one of six regional sites running May 8-10, with the top four teams and two individuals advancing to the NCAA Women’s Golf National Finals. Last year, Purgatory in Noblesville hosted the NCAA Division II Men’s Regional and in 2021 a D-I men’s regional (Sagamore) and a women’s D-II regional (Prairie View) also came to Hamilton County. Symetra Tour, Big Ten Conference and a long list of high school and collegiate tournaments come to Hamilton County each year.

The country’s best collegiate golf players will make Hamilton County their home for the week, and Chatham’s head golf professional Brandon Snell is making sure the course is more than up to the challenge.

“We want the regional here to feel like the national finals,” Snell said. “It’s about creating memorable experiences for everyone, and that’s something our entire membership is buying into. We are going to take advantage, and we want the players and staff leaving and saying how that had a real championship feel.”

Snell, who has been Chatham Hills’s head pro since 2020, said the staff is going beyond its top-notch amenities and focusing on the little touches. Signage upon enter and on the driving range, ample volunteers and a home course feel are the details that make Chatham Hills a great site for any elite golf event.

Chatham Hills is a residential resort-style club that goes way beyond golf. Event facilities, a bowling alley, indoor basketball courts, multiple pools and dining options for every taste add to the two golf courses. As a host to big events, Chatham annually hosts two events each year for members with approximately 150 players. It also hosted the 2020 Indiana PGA Section and Championship and the 2022 Indiana State Open.

In short, there’s plenty to do and see and the golf amenities are primed for the best female collegiate players in the nation. Snell says Chatham Hills is “not just a club, but a community.”

“The four teams and two individuals that compete on our course will go on from here and compete for the national championship. Our goal is that nobody will have to ask for anything – it’ll already be presented. And that’s what our staff prides itself on every day.”
